The Dorothy Hopwood Award for Professional Achievement recognises a dietetic support worker who has made a valuable and significant contribution to the profession.
This award is open to dietetic support workers who are BDA members and who can demonstrate innovation and new ways of working within nutrition and dietetic services. The project/work may be undertaken on a multi-disciplinary basis though the contribution of the dietetic support worker must be clearly illustrated within the application.

The judging panel on 2021 winner Julie Mason, Dietetic Assistant in the Oncology and Inpatient dietetic team at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
Entry Criteria
To apply for the Dorothy Hopwood Award, nominees must:
- Be a member of the BDA
- Currently working as a dietetic support worker
Deadline for submissions are 10am on Wednesday 25 May. The awards will be presented at our awards ceremony on the evening of Tuesday 5 July 2022 in Birmingham.
