The BDA is the largest association of food and nutrition professionals in the UK and is the only body in the UK representing the whole of the dietetic workforce.

BDA membership is open to all dietetic professionals both UK-based and overseas, including registered dietitians and dietetic support workers/assistants, dietetic students, qualified nutritionists/sports nutritionists and those with an occupational interest in food and nutrition. 

Dietitians

Dieitians who are currently, previously or elgible for registration with the HCPC can join the BDA as Full Members.

Full Membership

Dietetic Support Workers / Assistants

Dietetic support workers/assistant practitioners working under the direct supervision of a dietitian.

Associate Membership

Dietetic Students

Dietetic students studying a dietetics course at (or partnered with) an approved UK institution, which when they qualify, leads to becoming a registered dietitian can apply for BDA student membership

Dietetic Students

Sports Nutritionist

Qualified sports nutritionists are able to join the BDA as an SENR member

The Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr)

Nutritionist or dietitian trained overseas

Nutritionists who have undertaken a recognised degree in nutrition, and dietitians trained overseas who are not eligible for HCPC registration can join as a BDA Affiliate member

Affiliate & Alliance Membership

Health Professional / Occupational interest in nutrition

Those with an occupational interest in nutrition and dietetics, support the aims of the BDA, and are not eligible for any other membership category, can join as BDA Alliance members

Affiliate & Alliance Membership

Corporate Membership

Organisations who work with the BDA more strategically and want to demonstrate support for the profession, can join the BDA as a corporate member.
