Celebrating Black History Month 2021

October is Black History Month in the UK. Our Chair, Caroline Bovey, discusses why it's important and how we're celebrating it this year.

We want to talk about sex

Data that is disaggregated for sex and other characteristics is vital for accurate research, say Angela Madden, Caroline Bovey and Linda Wedlake.

Black History Month 2020

It’s Black History Month! A time to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of black people. Black people have made, and continue to make, significant contributions to food, nutrition, dietetics and healthcare in the UK.

Black Lives Matter

The BDA states clearly that black lives matter. We condemn the racism, brutalisation and inequality faced by black people both here and in the USA. We stand with our black members, staff and black people everywhere, and we offer our solidarity with all those protesting anti-black racism. To our black members, we recognise the importance you play within the healthcare profession, we stand with you and we support you, because black lives matter.
